Greetings and Salutations!

February in Central New York is not for the faint of heart, but you have to admit, you kind of love it! You almost wear it as a badge of honor. When you talk to your friends down state or down south and describe the snow in terms of feet and temperatures in terms of single digits, there is a sense of pride. However, even the staunchest of us start to get cabin fever and mid-winter blues. Unfortunately, Punxsutawney Phil recently saw his shadow and thus predicted six more weeks of winter.

Don’t despair. CNYSME has some great events coming up that might just help with your mood and mid-winter morale. We have Rise N Shine workshops and Professional Forums scheduled all winter long to keep your sales and marketing teams current on industry trends and how to maximize current tools such as social networking websites. Additionally, it’s not too late to recognize the best and brightest of your team at the annual Crystal Ball/SMEA Banquet. This is a great venue for publicly recognizing your top performers in front of community and industry leaders.

How well is your team playing together?

February’s topic is Team Collaboration with Cindy Sarandis, MS. Cindy is a dynamic motivational speaker, coach, facilitator and consultant. She is the owner and founder of Executive Pathways, a Consulting Firm located in Syracuse, New York. EXECPathways works with executives and their organizations helping them to reach their most aggressive goals while developing a work environment of collaboration and consciousness. Her action -oriented approach to goal achievement is richly based on an internal focus with a proven record of sustainable results.

In today’s economy more than ever before – the teams that have the ability to collaborate effectively achieve the results. Results happen when people allow themselves to come together for a common vision. Laser sharp focus with clear intention and integrity separates the teams that win from the ones that lose in tough times. But how do people that have different styles--work together to achieve those results? How does a team handle individuals who are working from a private agenda? Can you remove the blocks that stifle communication so that your team may move into an optimal flow?

Team Collaboration happens, when people join forces unselfishly for a common objective. Lean a 5 step practical approach to effective team collaboration.
