Scholarship Program

Central New York Sales & Marketing Executives encourages undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education in the field of sales and marketing for the purpose of preparing individuals for professional careers.

Scholarship awards from the SME general scholarship fund, including awards resulting from special programs (ie. Crystal Ball) are awarded to applicants in amounts up to a maximum of $1,000. The number of awards will be determined by the Scholarship Committee and based on the availability of funds.

Presentation of the awards will take place at the Crystal Ball / SME Awards Banquet. The recipients will also receive 2 complimentary tickets for guests to accompany them to the event. Should additional tickets be required, they will be made available at the member rate.

Funding:

At the close of each SME fiscal year, the board, at its option designates and transfers funds into the general scholarship fund. Additional programs designed to raise scholarship funds may be split as follows: 50% to the named organization, 50% to the general SME scholarship fund.

Eligibility:

Any student currently enrolled, as high school seniors, continuing education; undergraduate, graduate students and previous recipients still enrolled in afore mentioned programs are eligible.

Students must reside in Central New York or must be enrolled in Central New York (Metro Areas: Watertown, Syracuse, Utica-Rome, Binghamton, Ithaca-Cortland, Elmira).

All recipients will be selected without regard to race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.

Selection Procedure:

Scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, extracurricular activities, reference letters and a minimum 350-word essay describing their career goals as it relates to business, sales and marketing. CNYSME Scholarship Committee and Board members will review all applications.
